    Size matters

Experience has shown us that the size of the tiles must depend on the size of the rooms. If the rooms are bigger, the tiles also need to be bigger, for a great visual effect. However, in some cases, this rule can be ignored if you have a specific design in mind. Ceramic tiles can be made of red or white clay underneath. The white ones are far more resilient to external factors. The red clay ones can only be mounted on walls, and are not as resilient.

    Polished, porcelain, honed or tumbled...

There is a set of terms that we must understand when we talk about floor and wall ceramic tiles. In short, the honed ones are more precise and we can obtain a better result.

Porcelain floor tiles are more resilient to shocks and represents a better way to cover the flooring. On the other hand, regular tiles are only being used to cover the walls. Porcelain floor tiles are usually frost resilient and can also be used with floor heating.

Choosing the materials we work with is a very important decision. In most cases, we choose top quality materials, which have passed the test of time. These are generally easier to work with and quicker to install. We can advice you regarding our most trusted brands for our service – ceramic tiles installation Bucharest.

How many tiles will I actually need?

The easiest answer to this question comes from a simple, mathematical calculus. Firstly, we need to find out what the perimeter of the room is. This number will then be divided to the dimensions of the chosen tiles. Usually, for straight tiles, the loss percentage of materials is around 15%, whilst for the diagonal tiling, it’s 30%.

You can also think about the resilience degree when choosing your tiles. Those degrees start from PEI I, which means the tiles are only meant to be mounted on walls – up to PEI V. PEI V tiles are designed for high traffic areas (restaurants, offices and so forth).
